On September 1st, 2019 residents of The Treasure Coast dodged a bullet when Hurricane Dorian, with sustained winds of over 185mph, stalled over The Bahamas. It was the strongest hurricane to ever hit these pristine islands. Residents of the Treasure Coast sprang into action to offer aid to the struggling nation. No Town Left Behind helped to coordinate and deliver hundreds of thousands of pounds of emergency relief supplies along with several organizations and concerned citizens.
For weeks Treasure Coast Residents, non-profit organizations, and businesses moved as quickly as they could to provide as much relief as possible to The Bahamas, out of their own pockets. Now that the news cycle has passed and this team of everyday heroes must return to their real jobs and take care of their own families, the needs in the Bahamas are still as desperate as ever. It will take years for their recovery to be complete. There are many challenges for this recovery since they are located on islands and shipping costs are steep. Our goal for this event is to raise money and awareness so we can to keep the boats and planes making provisional trips to The Bahamas for the duration of their rebuild. 100% of the proceeds support the nonprofit organization, No Town Left Behind who is leading continued relief efforts in the Bahamas for Hurricane Dorian survivors and building a Relief Village in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
